Vinitaly alongside the International Wine and Spirits Competition for 25 years Verona
22 November 2021- Vinitaly has a new wine communicator. Master of Wine Sarah Heller was today nominated “Wine communicator of the year" by the International Wine and Spirit Competition. Heller made a strong impression on the jury of the award sponsored by Vinitaly through her international status and an ability to closer the gap between Asian and Western markets, coming out ahead of ten other candidates.
Sara Heller MW is a wine expert, visual artist and the youngest Master of Wine in the Western Pacific area. She is Wine Editor for Asia Tatler, columnist for Club Oenologique and a guest of the 'Wine Masters' TV series. She has collaborated with the Vinitaly International Academy since 2018.
Her video courses about wine have been seen by almost eight million students, while her "Visual tasting notes" evoking tasting experiences of some of the most exciting wines in the world are full-scale works of art that have appeared in numerous magazines across Asia, America and Europe.
Sarah Heller's predecessors as "Wine Communicator of the year" include: Elaine Chukan Brown, Madeline Puckette, Tom Cannavan, Joe Fattorini, Joe Wadsack, Tyson Stelzer, Jane Parkinson and Jancis Robinson MW.
The International Wine & Spirit Competition is an annual event founded in 1969 by German/British oenologist Anton Massel. The competition receives entries from more than 90 countries around the world every year. The prizes awarded by the competition are held in extremely high regard in the beverage sector.
Veronafiere, through Vinitaly, has sponsored the IWSC Wine Communicator of the Year Award since its inception in 1996. The trophy and the award will be presented to Heller in Verona during the 54th edition of Vinitaly 10-13 April 2022.
