August 27 2025

Verona - 27 August 2025. Promotion of Italian wine on the US market continues in full swing with Veronafiere-Vinitaly, ITA-Italian Trade Agency, Fiere Italiane and the Italian American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest-Chicago teaming up for the second edition of Vinitaly.USA, scheduled at the Navy Pier in Chicago 5-6 October. The event is expected to attract 250 exhibitors, comprising wineries and consortia representing overall turnover of approximately 7.2 billion euros. This result confirms and relaunches Vinitaly.USA as a landmark for Italian wine in the United States through its ability to promote leading brands and consortia even during such a delicate time for the market and the international context.

"We are finding," said the President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, "determined motivation among many of the main Italian wineries; there is an awareness that the difficulties posed by tariffs have to be met with stronger image and promotion.”

Chicago, thanks to the joint efforts of Veronafiere and ITA-Italian Trade Agency, will welcome major brands from all over Italy, including Antinori, Famiglia Cotarella, Frescobaldi, Ferrari, Zonin, Bellavista, Berlucchi, Planeta, Allegrini, Angelini Wines & Estates, Pasqua, Masciarelli, Feudi di San Gregorio, Varvaglione, San Polo, Tasca d'Almerita, Rocca delle Macìe, and Tommasi. There are also many Prosecco winemakers, starting with Mionetto, Villa Sandi, and Spumanti Valdo, as well as large groups or cooperatives: Giv, Nosio (Mezzacorona) and Cantine di Verona.

The main consortia set to take part to date include Consortia representing Prosecco DOC, Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, Asti DOCG, Valpolicella, Brunello di Montalcino, Custoza, Chiaretto and Bardolino, Lugana, and Garda, as well as the Umbria Top collective and attendance covering Sicilia DOC. The regions taking part so far include Veneto, Sardinia, Friuli, and Latium, as well as the Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna, yet others will sign up soon.

The registration campaign for American importers and buyers has also been launched. The second edition of Vinitaly.USA already boasts names such as Volio Fine Wine Imports, Vias, Terlato Wines, More Than Grapes – Wine Smports, Winebow Fine Wines–Spirits, and Eagle Eye Wines. "These are still interim results," said the General Manager of Veronafiere, Adolfo Rebughini, "yet already significant as regards attention towards Italian wine on the US market. Our aim with Vinitaly.USA is to offer a stable and strategic platform capable of strengthening the impact of our companies in the United States. Working together with institutions, consortia, and companies will enable us to transform even the most complex market aspects into opportunities for growth and consolidation of business relationships." The programme during Vinitaly.USA also includes - in addition to a calendar of tastings - matching of supply and demand, market focus meetings, and the début of the wine2wine business forum with its first international edition. Twenty sessions on the schedule include tastings, market analysis and the announcement by Wine Spectator on 5 October in Chicago of the protagonists of Vinitaly OperaWine 2026. There is also room for wine tourism, thanks to the offering by Vinitaly Tourism, as well as training through VIA-Vinitaly International Academy, and the extra virgin olive oil tastings organised at the Oil Bar by SOLExpo.
