Verona 15 April 2026. The 58th edition of Vinitaly closes today at Veronafiere: 4,000 companies in a packed exhibition centre with 90,000 attendees in all, 26% international from 135 countries (five more than in 2025).
The President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, commented: “We are delighted because - given an international context affected by complex geopolitical dynamics which significantly impact the flow and mobility of operators for leading European trade fairs - this result weent far beyond our expectations. Consolidated attendance by more than 1,000 top buyers from over 70 countries - selected and hosted in collaboration with ITA Trade Agency along with other profiled operators - bears witness to the event's ability to attract qualified demand and ensure high market coverage. Inasmuch, Vonitialy established itself as an infrastructure supporting internationalization in the sector, capable of promoting high-value meetings, accelerating entry into international markets, and providing effective support for the competitiveness of Italian wine. Attendance from consolidated markets – such as the United States, Canada and Europe – together with areas with high development potential, including Mercosur with Brazil and India, Australia and Africa, creates an ecosystem focused on generating new trade relationships and development opportunities.”
Established outlet markets on hand in Verona once again include Germany, North America (USA and Canada), Switzerland, United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands,Czech Republic, Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway and Denmark), Poland and Austria, demonstrating the solidity of the main reference areas as regards demand for Italian wine. The most promising areas - the top 10 markets with the greatest potential include China, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, the Baltic Republics (Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia), Serbia, and Singapore, highlighting a progressively stronger presence in high-growth areas. There is also growing interest from Africa, with South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Angola, while Japan and Vietnam stood out for Asia for their dynamism and attention to Made in Italy labels. Newcomers especially included Ukraine, with impressive attendance by qualified buyers.
Mr Gianni Bruno, deputy General Manager, said: “Veronafiere confirms the organizational solidity of this show and its ability to ensure continuity and quality in business relationships even in a challenging economic climate. We will continue to invest in Internationalization as a strategic direction: we are already working to develop new venues for Vinitaly in Africa, Canada, and Australia, and will double up our presence in Brazil to strength our existing involvement with Wine South America. The level of satisfaction expressed over the last four days by exhibitors and operators confirms the effectiveness of our strategic plan. Vinitaly is an effective accelerator for positioning companies, capable of transforming attendance at a trade fair into promotion and business opportunities.”
Moreover, Vinitaly and the City posted 50,000 tasting tokens. Additionally, the project continues its nationwide development through its travelling format: after Calabria, autumn will see a similar event in Ancona, in the Marches region. This approach promotes the off-show event as a lever capabler of activating different areas and audiences, thereby contributing to the construction of an integrated system that involves and encourages dialogue with end consumers, especially young people.
The event also hosted nearly 100 events, including tastings and conferences, in addition to thousands of initiatives organized directly by companies, regions, and consortia on their stands. The main innovations included the development of NoLo – Vinitaly Experience, the strengthening of Xcellent Spirits and the consolidation ofVinitaly Tourism, by now all increasingly integrated into the main event's offering.
Vinitaly also confirmed its position as a landmark platform for dialogue between the supply chain and institutions, on national and European levels alike. Among key events, the Wine Table brought together the supply chain by addressing strategic issues ranging from exports to the new CMO, as well as production and consumption dynamics. A role that further strengthens Vinitaly's function as a venue for synthesis and direction supporting the development of the sector.
Vinitaly also confirmed its role as an institutional point of reference, with attendance, for the second time in an official capacity, by the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Christophe Hansen, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, and, for the third time, Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. Other dignitaries included the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Antonio Tajani, the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Tourism, Gianmarco Mazzi on his first official outing, the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, and the President of the ITA Trade Agency, Matteo Zoppas, a partner in the implementation of the incoming plan for international operators.
The 59th Vinitaly is scheduled at Veronafiere 11-14 April 2027.
