In this presentation held at wine2wine Business Forum 2021 and available today in podcast format on Vinitaly Plus, the speaker and CEO of VineSleuth Amy Gross opens the doors to the world of apps for the wine sector. Drawing on her own professional experience, Amy Gross provides an overview of the changes wine apps have experienced in recent years and provides an in-depth analysis of the applications to watch. Opportunities for Italian producers Wine apps have undergone some major changes in the last couple of years, and now more than ever there is a need for wineries to seize the opportunities these apps can offer. Helping consumers choose the right wine for them, collecting data on purchases and shortening the sales cycle are just some of the benefits that apps offer. In her session presented at wine2wine Business Forum 2021, Amy Gross revealed which apps are still relevant and how to use them to stay ahead of trends and increase sales. In the second part of her presentation, she suggests practical strategies for working with wine apps (both directly and indirectly), analyzing the data they generate for growing your business and digital footprint. Strategies to increase sales through apps The central focus of Amy Gross' presentation was on the main strategies to help companies increase market share through apps: responding to customer searches and buidling client relationships. For this last part, Amy explained how important it is not only to find new customers, but above all to maintain contacts once acquired: an increase in customer retention of 5% can in fact increase profits by 25% to 50%. The second factor to consider when talking about wine apps is the ability to respond to consumer searches. Wine searches cover price, reputation, food pairing, and flavor. In particular, companies can focus on communicating the food-wine pairing and the flavor in the best possible way. Many consumers who are about to purchase a specific wine for the first time are discouraged by the fact that they don't know anything about its flavor. The better you can explain it, the more likely they will be to make a purchase. Amy Gross Amy Gross is the founder and CEO of VineSleuth / Wine4.Me, a system that combines sensory data with machine learning to offer flavor-based recommendations for wine, beer and cider.
