Description
Concept:
This opening panel brings together Italian institutions and leading voices from production, importing, wine media and hospitality to address a shared question: how can institutional promotion and business investment work together to strengthen Italian wine’s position in America?
As part of the ITA Wine Business Forum, the discussion opens with Matteo Zoppas outlining ITA’s strategic priorities for Italian wine in the United States, including promotion, competitiveness and cooperation with American partners. Giovanni Sacripante connects these priorities to Vinitaly’s role as a platform for market development and lasting commercial relationships.
Bill Terlato, Matteo Lunelli and Tim Marson MW examine how producer commitment, importing partnerships and portfolio positioning translate into business. Alison Napjus and Bobby Stuckey explore how editorial recognition, communication and hospitality influence consumer confidence and choice.
Moderated by Maria Luisa Rossi Hawkins, the conversation brings the needs raised by these participants back to Zoppas for a concluding exchange on shared priorities and opportunities for cooperation.
Abstract:
Italian wine’s future in America depends on coordinated action across institutions, producers and the businesses that bring wine to consumers. How can promotion support commercial growth? What investment and cooperation do American partners need from Italian producers? And how can Italy’s reputation translate into sustained demand?
Opening the ITA Wine Business Forum at Vinitaly.USA, this panel connects institutional strategy with the practical realities of importing, selection, wine media and hospitality. Matteo Zoppas frames the discussion around ITA’s priorities for the US market, while Giovanni Sacripante addresses how Vinitaly.USA can support those objectives beyond the event itself.
Through a focused exchange with industry leaders, the session will identify where collective promotion and individual business investment can reinforce one another, and what each part of the sector can contribute to Italian wine’s long-term success.
