Jacopo Fanciulli
Jacopo Fanciulli is an Italian Wine Ambassador and Master of Wine candidate. He has a degree in Communication, a Master's in Oenology and Wine Marketing, and a Master's in Gastronomic Sciences and Quality Products. He is WSET Level 3 & Educator, Professional Sommelier, and Official AIS Taster. He is particularly active in promoting Italian wine around the world through training, communication, and consulting activities. One of his main goals is to increase awareness of Ligurian wines and the culture of the region, both in Italy and abroad, an objective he pursues through projects and initiatives shared with the Vite in Riviera network. He has collaborated with Vinitaly International as project manager and coordinator of the Vinitaly International Academy, Tasting Coordinator and judge for 5StarWines & Wine Without Walls. He is the author of the Jumbo
Shrimp Guide to Italian Wine and the Jumbo Shrimp Guide to International Grape Varieties in Italy and editor of Italian Wine Unplugged 2.0, with contributions to industry publications.
He participates as a judge in international competitions such as the International Wine Challenge, Mondial des Vins Extrêmes, Grenaches du Monde and others.

A vertical tasting is the ultimate test to measure a wine’s true aging potential. In this masterclass, Jacopo Fanciulli will lead an exclusive tasting dedicated to the wines of Western Liguria by Vite in Riviera. The session aims to demonstrate how this region—often associated with youthful, immediate wines—can instead express surprising depth, complexity, and longevity.
By comparing different vintages of iconic Western Ligurian DOC wines, participants will evaluate the evolution of their aromatic profiles, the persistence of acidic freshness, oak integration, and overall balance. Special attention will be given to the expression of native Ligurian grape varieties and the influence of climate, soil, and winemaking choices in defining their evolutionary potential.
