TASTING EX...PRESS: Top of Toscana 2026: Where Italy’s Finest Wines Are Born

For more than 10 years, the Top of Toscana special by Vinum has gathered most of the best wines and the finest wine-growing areas of the Tuscany region: from the coast to the peaks of the Apennines, with outstanding wines made from Sangiovese or other indigenous grapes, as well as international varieties that have long established themselves in Italy.

Our journey through the vineyards of Tuscany begins with two white wines – Chardonnay, a big player worldwide – and Vernaccia di San Gimignano, a niche wine that expresses the soul of a red grape in a white form. Along the coast, from Maremma to Bolgheri and beyond, the great international varieties have found a home, forming the base of long-lived and elegant wines.

Finally, the region is undoubtedly the kingdom of Sangiovese: Montecucco, Morellino di Scansano, Chianti DOCG, Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and Brunello di Montalcino are wines made from this grape, expressing all the nuances of Tuscany – the queen of Italian winemaking.
