For several years now, we have been witnessing a clear decline in the consumption of traditional wines. Among the major producing countries, France has launched a vineyard uprooting program, and California is moving in the same direction. Generations following the “baby boomers” have clearly shifted toward alternative beverages and wines with a fresher, fruitier style, preferably with an alcohol content around 12% or lower. In this context, the growing success of simple, easy-drinking white wines and the ever-expanding Prosecco phenomenon should be interpreted.
No- and low-alcohol wines represent a valid alternative today to vineyard uprooting policies, while also capturing the opportunities offered by a market that still has significant growth potential. Tenute Piccini has been collaborating for several years with BevZero to produce dealcoholized wines, and today we will have the opportunity to taste the “Generazione Zero” range, the result of this partnership.
