Cristina Mercuri is one of Italy’s most authoritative voices in wine education and strategy. She is the Founder and CEO of Mercuri Wine Club, a consultancy and academy that bridges education, brand development, and strategic communication for leading Italian and international wine producers.
She is the first Italian woman to become a Master of Wine. Cristina began her professional journey as a lawyer in international law firms, where she developed a rigorous analytical mindset and strategic discipline. In 2015, she decided to follow her passion for wine, earning her WSET Diploma in 2018 and later obtaining certifications as Sherry, Cava, and Port Educator, as well as Italian VDP Ambassador — credentials that reflect both her academic depth and her commitment to excellence across all aspects of wine culture and communication.
As a strategic and product consultant, she works with wineries and consortia to refine product quality, connect with key international players, optimise brand positioning and market strategy, and strengthen storytelling — translating technical excellence into global relevance. Her work combines analytical rigour with contemporary communication, helping brands evolve in an increasingly competitive fine-wine landscape.
Cristina is Wine Editor at Forbes Italia and, from the 2026 edition, an international judge for Decanter, where she brings her expertise to evaluating and interpreting quality within global contexts. As Brand Ambassador for Mack & Schühle Italia, she represents an ambitious international project dedicated to promoting Italian regional excellence through innovation, sustainability, and cultural storytelling.
As an educator, Cristina teaches at all levels — from enthusiasts to WSET Diploma candidates — and designs bespoke corporate training for hospitality, distribution, and luxury clients. Her educational philosophy merges theory with strategy, focusing on commercial awareness, critical thinking, and persuasive communication.
Recognised among the most followed Italian wine professionals on Instagram (@cristinamercuri_wine), Cristina shares educational insights, market analysis, and reflections on the evolving culture of wine communication.
