Terra Moretti's Vinitaly began with a preview on Saturday and BELLAVISTA’S participation in OperaWine, the event presenting a selection of Italy's finest wines which precedes the opening of the exhibition. At Operawine, Bellavista will present its Selezione di Vendemmia dedicated to the La Scala Theatre, a wine representing the quintessence of both the vintage and the winery's style. Every year this vintage wine draws inspiration from the world of opera and an exceptional venue, the La Scala Theatre, of which Bellavista has been a partner and the "official wine" since 2004. 2011 is the vintage presented at this Vinitaly, and was recently launched at the Tokyo Cultural Institute with a well-received Bel Canto recital especially conceived for the occasion by the Accademia della Scala. Alongside the product values, the event managed to convey all the imaginative power and the beauty of Italy that the world has learnt to love. At the Terra Moretti stand, all the wines will be available for tasting, alongside some special new entries presented by each winery. While BELLAVISTA is going to focus on 2011 Teatro alla Scala in its Brut, Rosé and Satèn versions, CONTADI CASTALDI is showcasing the Satèn style, featured in two different vintages, 2012 and Reserve Soul 2009. The winery holds the style’s all-time record in terms of bottle production – 250,000 bottles, all vintage wine – having been the first to believe in the potential of this type of wine, which is all about finesse and elegance in expression and is based on the use of 100% Chardonnay grapes and on developing less pressure in the bottle. Tenuta La Badiola from Tuscany will give a preview of its recently restyled 2016 ACQUAGIUSTA Vermentino, Rosato and Rosso. The new image is meant to highlight the "spirit of the land" by picturing the long, tree-lined entrance avenue leading to the property, where cypresses alternate with Mediterranean pines, protected by the National Heritage Authority since 2004. A unique feature – together with the Acquagiusta springs flowing under the vineyards, from which the vineyards take their name – which has now come to stand for the Moretti’s attention to every single aspect of the history of this place. A particularlry interesting example is the estate's Rosato (literally, rosé), made from 100% Alicante grapes, a typical variety in this area of the Maremma plain, handled here in a way that combines its natural exuberance with a very special touch of gentility. PETRA – 96 hectares of vineyard in Suvereto, in the Val di Cornia – is also presenting its most exclusive novelty, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend, Petra 2013, awarded the "Three Glasses" top rating by Gambero Rosso and particularly appreciated by Prince Charles, who tasted it during the grand kermesse organized in his honor by Franco Ricci of FIS. A place of honor will also be granted to the wines of SELLA & MOSCA and TERUZZI & PUTHOD, a representative sampling of which will be poured for the general public at the WineBar: for Sella & Mosca, Terre Bianche and Vermentino, while for Teruzzi & Puthod, Terre di Tufi and Vernaccia. As an accopaniement for the Terra Moretti tasting, our friend Renato Bosco's selection of special breads will be served throughout the Vinitaly days (Saporè, San Martino Buon Albergo VE) together with tasty tidbits from the Michelin starred chefs: Christian and Manuel Costardi, Ristorante Christian & Manuel (Vercelli) – Sunday, Apr. 9th Enrico Bartolini, Ristorante La Trattoria L’Andana (Castiglione della Pescaia GR) , Mudec (Milan), Casual (Bergamo) – Monday, Apr. 10th Roberto Proto, Ristorante Il Saraceno (Cavernago BG), Tuesday, Apr. 11th
