Description
The National Archaeological Museum of Verona offers a guided tour of its rooms to discover the origins and social meaning of wine consumption in our most ancient past. In fact, the exhibits on display allow us to reconstruct many aspects of the daily life of the populations who once inhabited the Veronese area, among which an important role was certainly played by wine: this was not simply a drink but soon took on other meanings connected to the social and ritual sphere, as revealed by the finds found already in some Neolithic sites and then in the stilt houses of the Bronze Age and in the funerary objects of the Iron Age.
