Vinitaly for You

Vinitaly for You is the “off-show” evening event organised by Vinitaly for wine-lovers - and this year focuses on the topic of road safety.

The purpose is clearly summed up in the claim:

To drink or to drive A comparison of two pleasures: producers and drivers seeking the right balance

Drinking and driving are two of the numerous pleasures of life that, like many others, must find the right balance between enjoyment, personal safety and the safety of other people: balance and harmony are based on awareness of personal limits, everyone's personal freedom of choice and a healthy, informed life style.

Really enjoying driving and really enjoying wine means fully understanding Vinitaly's mission to promote enjoyment and respect of wine:

To drink or to drive

This is the programmed concept encouraging dialogue with the general public in an enjoyable and relaxed setting, among friends sharing passions and experiences with competent experts, to provide input and technical information for making our lives and those of our friends better (and safer).

ACTIVITY 1 - SAFE DRIVING COURSE

This activity is scheduled every evening at 19.30.
As an optional occasion for clients of Vinitaly For You, the safe-driving theory course will be conducted by specialists in this area of Volkswagen Group.
The course will involve detailed theory lessons. The lessons begin with a description of the correct driving position and then explain the safety systems fitted to modern vehicles. Special emphasis is then dedicated to analysis of braking and steering techniques, as well as corrective action in the event of over- or under-steering, with an explanation of the causes that may give rise to these problems.
Particular attention will also be dedicated to explanations of driving in poor adherence conditions (wet asphalt, eventual rough sections of roads, snow).
The final part of the course will be dedicated to the effects of drink-driving with statistics and various case histories.

ACTIVITY 2 - TALK SHOW

This activity is scheduled every evening at 20.15.
The evening will be introduced bu a talk show: with an interesting and informative discussion of the pleasure of wine and good drinking (with a representative of wine producers) and driving (with a professional driver), as well as a positive and informed approach to combining these pleasures.
“The search for the right balance” means exactly this.
The talk show will be conducted by Fabrizio Quaranta, presenter of the Radio 2 RAI programme “Decanter”, who has made his name in the Italian wine and food panorama through his direct, immediate, cheerful and entertaining communication of wine and food.

The talk show will also involve a professional driver and a wine producer. The drivers invited are all very successful and well-known among young driving enthusiasts:

Wine producers, on the other hand, will be selected from a list prepared by Vinitaly.

After the talk show, there will be a live broadcast on Radio 2 RAI of the Decanter programme, involving the guests present at Palazzo Gran Guardia (and special emphasis on the event).
